Two deals that will stand out (besides the buying of Manhattan, New York), per Investopedia: (1) the Alaskan purchase in 1867 from Russia at 2 cents per acre (which would eventually yield so much in oil and other resources); and (2) the Louisiana Purchase from France, adding 13 U.S. states in 1803 at 3 cents per acre at the time (and 47 cents per acre in today's dollars, so still could be done using QuikDealr.
